Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi has revealed that the players of the team are psyched up ahead of Saturday’s Group D game against Sudan.
The Eagles will be in action against Sudan in their second Group D game.
A Kelechi Iheanacho superb strike earned the Eagles a deserved 1-0 win against Egypt in their opening game.
Iwobi came on in late in the game to help the Eagles see out the win.
And ahead of Saturday’s fixture, Iwobi told NFF TV the Eagles will try and replicate the performance against Egypt when they face Sudan.
“Me personally I’m always ready no matter what game it is. Obviously it’s a big competition we have already made our mark in the first game but we can’t be complacent. We are going to give the same motivation and desire in the first game and hopefully we can get the result we need.
“We are really psyched up especially that first performance but we are not going to rest on our hoarse, we are going to keep on going.
“The only assurance I will give is that we are going to give 100 per cent and fight for our country and the result hopefully we will get what we want but we are going to fight for our country.”
Also bearing his mind ahead of the weekend’s clash is Joe Aribo.
The Rangers midfielder provided the assist for Iheanacho to open scoring against the Pharaohs.
And according to him, the Eagles are prepared for the Sudanese.
“Preparations have been very good, the boys are ready, we’ve rested from the last game and we are just ready, we are prepared.”
‘We knew it was important for us to stay solid (against Egypt) stay together as a team work hard and give that extra 10 per cent. It was really good and a nice feeling for me being my first AFCON game so it was just a really nice experience and most importantly getting the three points.
He added:”Just like the Egypt game, we want to win every game. We want to take every game as it comes and that’s what we are here for to get the victory and put in a good performance.”
