The Red-White Gladiators were given a lifeline in the 68th minute, as Adil Auassar headed in a free-kick from Vito Van Crooij to put Sparta Rotterdam ahead.
Okoye showed his brilliance in goal, making two big saves to keep his side in the game. He was also firm, marshalling his backline brilliantly.
Sparta held out for a 1-0 victory. The win takes them to 16th on the log, two points away from safety with a game in hand.
