Ahead of the 2022/23 season, English Premier League club, Leicester City, have confirmed the arrival of Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho for pre-season training.

Leicester resumed camp last week for the new season without Iheanacho, Patson Daka and Wesley Fofana, who all returned to training on Monday.

The 2015/16 Premier League champions posted a video of Iheanacho in training on their social media page.

“Back in the Building! Monday saw Seagrave returns for Patson Daka, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wesley Fofana,” Leicester wrote on Twitter.

Following an underwhelming 2021/22 season where he scored just eight goals and had nine assists in 43 appearances for the Foxes, a sharp contrast from the 19 goals and seven assists he had two seasons ago, the Super Eagles forward is rearing to go as the new season kicks off in August.

Asides from the Nigerian, Leicester also had a poor campaign, where they finished eighth in the Premier League and manager Brendan Rodgers would look to get the best out of his players as they target European qualification.

Rodgers men will begin their preseason with a match against English National League side Notts County on July 9 before taking on Belgian side OH Leuven six days later.

Hull City, Preston North End, and Derby County are the Foxes other pre-season opponents before playing Sevilla in their final preparation game on July 31.
