Deji Adekanmbi of Tiger Golf Club has emerged winner with 69 net in the memorial golf tournament organized at the prestigious Tiger Golf Club, Odogbo Ibadan to honour and give last respect to the late Major General Olufunmilola Oladipupo Soleye who was buried last weekend.
The winners at various categories of the tournament included A.V.M Lar from IBB Golf Club and Demola Ozolua of Tiger Golf Club who came first and second runners up respectively, while Adepoju Y of Abeokuta Golf Club won female best net, as Okunola Mary of Tiger Golf Club, and Samuel L of Jaji Golf Club ended as first and second runners up respectively in female category.

The golf tournament that was organised by Tiger Golf Club executives and the 34 Regularly Course of Nigerian Army had over 120 golfers across the country assembled in TGC to pay their last respect to the late General and a philanthropist of note, Major Gen. Soleye who died in London last month.
The captain of the club, Tunde Salami, appreciated the course mates of the deceased and the LOC of the tournament headed by Muyiwa Laniyan, he described O.O Soleye Rtd, as a complete gentleman, promoter of peace and very kind person during his lifetime.
He also added that the big vacuum left behind by the late General will be very difficult to fill in the golfing circle.
A member of the LOC, Otunba Yomi Ojo, while speaking with newsmen after the tournament appreciated all the participants, the donors, the members of 34RC, the trustees of Tiger Golf Club, friends and family of Late Gen O.O Soleye for making the tournament a success and memorable one.
