It was a fun-filled atmosphere in Ibadan, when the African streamer, Showmax, stormed the capital of Oyo State to promote and unveil the much anticipated and award winning drama, Wura Season 3.
The street-show-like event witnessed the presence of the star characters in the serial drama including Scarlet Gomez, who played the role of Wura, Lanre Adediwura (Mide Kuti), Martha Ehinome (Tumininu), Ego Iheanacho (Iyabo Kuti) and Ray Adeka who played the Jeje Amao character.
The event is in preparation for the premiere of the Season 3 of the film, which is likely to be the final season scheduled for September 23, 2024.
The very much excited actors in their separate interactions with the media, spoke about their experiences and what the anticipating fans should be expecting in the Wura Season 3.
They described the drama series as an eye opener, an interest journey and the best thing to have happened to their filming career.
They appreciated Showmax for creating the opportunity and platform for actors and actresses to showcase their talents and redefining the entertainment landscape in Nigeria.
While giving their fans accolades for the overwhelming acceptance of the earlier Seasons 1 and 2, the actors said fans should expect more banger, heartbreak, tension, choke and a lot of energy in Season 3.
Ray Adeka disclosed that what Showmax Original is doing is wonderful and incredible especially in the aspect of finding solution to the fundamental problem actors and actresses are always facing despite their talents.
“For every platform that comes to Nigeria, we are very grateful for it, because they show opportunity for actors and actresses to live their dreams. What Showmax is doing is that, it is solving that number one problem of where one should go even when he or she has the talent. Showmax has discovered a lot of actors, a lot of us can confidently say we want to become actors, full-time actor for that matter, where we can say we want to live our dream.”
Scarlet Gomez opined that the film, Wura is the longest filming project she has ever had, saying that all her sweat, blood and tears went into it.
She revealed that she has become a better actress and that Wura has shown the world that she has what it takes in the industry.
In her own revelation, Ego Iheanacho, disclosed that her experience in movie is a very challenging one and it consists of the good, bad and the ugly, owing to the so much emotion attached to her role.
She maintained that it is one of the most amazing movies that she has been part of, and that she has garnered a lot of experience and has also prepared her for future challenges. “There is no role, bring it on, I’m ready” Ego enthused.
Lanre Adediwura noted that the movie, Wura is an eye opener and an avenue to showcase himself as a role interpreter.
He gave kudos to the characters and the entire crew for supporting one another. He also praised the producer for the content and the storyline, which he attributed its success to the concerted effort of all.
