Officials have announced that the NFF will announce a new foreign coach for the Super Eagles next week. This followed the meeting of the federation’s technical committee in Abuja Thursday.
“The technical committee has made its recommendations to the NFF executive committee and it is now left for them to make the formal announcement,” an official informed SCORENigeria.
It was further gathered that the appointment will in the first instance be based on the specific assignment of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Nigeria have six outstanding World Cup qualifiers beginning with away game in Rwanda and a home match against Zimbabwe in March.
The Super Eagles are currently in a precarious situation as they are second bottom of Group C with three points from four matches, while leaders Rwanda, South Africa and Benin lead on seven points apiece.
