The immediate past First Lady of Oyo State, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, on Thursday paid tribute to her late daughter, Abisola Kola-Daisi, as family, friends and admirers marked what would have been her birthday.

Abisola, the eldest daughter of former Oyo State governor, the late Abiola Ajimobi, died at the age of 42 on March 27, 2025, in the United Kingdom after battling breast cancer.

The late Abisola was an entrepreneur and mother of three. She passed away after a prolonged illness.

In an emotional message, the former First Lady reflected on her daughter’s life and legacy, describing her as a woman whose grace, warmth and quiet strength touched many lives.

She said, “Today, we remember and celebrate the life of Abisola Kola-Daisi on what would have been her birthday.”

Reflecting on the virtues that defined her daughter while alive, Mrs Ajimobi said the deceased lived with dignity, kindness and generosity of spirit, qualities that endeared her to everyone who came across her.

“She carried herself with dignity and kindness, touching many lives with her generosity of spirit and her deep love for family and friends.”

Mrs. Ajimobi noted that those who knew Abisola would always remember her elegance, gentle nature and the sincerity with which she related with people around her.

“Abisola, who was the daughter of the late former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, was raised in a family deeply rooted in service to humanity, compassion and community development.”

According to Mrs Ajimobi, despite the deceased being born into a prominent political family, her daughter carved out her own identity through humility, poise and genuine concern for others.

“As the beloved daughter of Abiola Ajimobi and Florence Ajimobi, she was raised in a home built on values of service, compassion and community. Yet beyond her family name, Abisola built her own identity marked by poise, humility and a genuine care for others.”

The former first lady acknowledged that Abisola’s passing created an immeasurable void within the family and among those who loved her, but emphasised that the memories she left behind continue to inspire and comfort many.

“Though her passing left an immeasurable void, the memories she created and the love she shared continues to live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her.”

Marking the posthumous birthday, Mrs. Ajimobi said the family chose to celebrate Abisola’s life and the legacy of kindness she left behind.

“Her light may no longer shine among us physically, but it continues to glow brightly in our memories and in the lives she touched.”

She however said “Happy Heavenly Birthday, Abisola. You are deeply loved, fondly remembered and forever missed.”
