The Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Oyo State Council, has honoured Alhaji (Arc.) Hassan Olawale Giwa, Asiwaju Adeen Musulumi of Ibadanland, with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Islam and humanity.
The award was presented to Arc. Giwa, who is also the House of Assembly candidate for Lagelu State Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Society’s Islamic Centre, Liberty Road, Oke-Ado, Ibadan.
The ceremony was attended by members, leaders, and other stakeholders of the Islamic organisation.
The honour followed what the Islamic organisation described as a rigorous selection process. The council said the award was well deserved, citing Arc. Giwa’s antecedents as a committed Muslim and his contributions to the growth and development of Islam in Oyo State and Nigeria.
Presenting the award, Mutiu Muyiwa Alade described it as being “in recognition of your outstanding and exceptional contributions to Islam and humanity.
In its congratulatory message, the council commended Giwa for his service and commitment to the Muslim community, expressing appreciation for his contributions over the years.
Responding, Arc. Hassan Olawale Giwa expressed his appreciation to the organisers for finding him worthy of the honour.
He said: “I am deeply honoured and sincerely grateful to receive this prestigious award.
“I accept this recognition with humility and a profound sense of responsibility. To me, an award of this nature is not merely a celebration of an individual; it is a reminder of the trust, support, and collective efforts of everyone who has contributed to the journey.
“I dedicate this honour to my family, colleagues, friends, mentors, and all those who have continued to believe in and support our work. Your encouragement has been a constant source of strength.
“I also appreciate the organisers and the entire team behind this recognition for finding our contributions worthy of this honour. I do not take this recognition for granted.

The Lagelu State Constituency House of Assembly candidate expressed renewed commitment to service, noting that the recognition would further encourage him to contribute to the advancement of Islam, humanity, and society.
