Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has partnered with Chinese technology firm Hefei Shengwen Information Technology Company Limited to strengthen security operations and protect residents, businesses, and public facilities across the state.

According to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke met with a Chinese delegation on Monday to discuss and finalise details of the project.

The team was led by Cai Jianfei, Director of International Operations, and Nemo Guo, Manager of Overseas Operations.

The project will involve installing a comprehensive security and intelligence platform to provide surveillance coverage across the state, enabling authorities to monitor security situations from a central command and control center.

The proposed system will deploy drones, radar, artificial intelligence-enabled cameras, robotics, and Internet of Things (IoT) technology to gather information, monitor incidents, and support real-time security operations around the clock.

It will also incorporate a Safe School Project aimed at strengthening security around educational institutions, as well as a mobile application that will allow citizens to connect directly with the Command and Control Centre.

The planned surveillance network will cover schools, hospitals, banks, industries, farms, mining sites, commercial centers, bus parks, and motor garages across major towns and key transport routes in Osun State.

Governor Adeleke linked the initiative to his administration’s establishment of the Osun state Security Trust Fund, saying the new project would deploy emerging technologies to strengthen security across the state.

“Our plan is to create an inclusive security platform that will fully secure and protect our people. From schools, hospitals, businesses, and border communities, this initiative is a strategic option,” he said.

Cai Jianfei said the project would integrate the capabilities of the state government to improve the protection of residents and businesses and invited the governor to undertake a working visit to China.
