The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman in Oyo State, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha, on Friday announced Engineer Rauf Aderemi Olaniyan as the deputy to the party’s gubernatorial candidate in the state.
Mustapha who made this announcement during the inauguration of the campaign committee of the party held at Premier Hotel, Ibadan, disclosed that the decision to pick Olaniyan was arrived at after consultations with the party’s stakeholders and elders.
At the event were former Minister of Sports, Professor Taoheed Adedoja, Dr. Saka Balogun, Alhaja Bosede Adedibu and Chief Sunday Ogunlade.
Olaniyan, an indigene of Igboho in Oorelope Local Government Area in Oke Ogun geopolitical zone of the state, was among the 13 aspirants of the ADC.
While speaking, the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Seyi Makinde, promised to incorporate the people living with disabilities, the aged and the vulnerable groups in his government, through various polices that will enhance their standard of living.
Former Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mrs. Jumoke Akinjide posited that the people of the state had tested both the PDP and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and have seen that the party was better than the APC.
