...Governor Ayodele Fayose...surely confident...

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has expressed his readiness and that of his party for the governorship election in the state anytime it is called.

This is just as 21 communities have benefitted from another round of grants to execute projects.

The governor, who spoke at the weekend in Ado-Ekiti when representatives of the beneficiary communities came to collect their cheques, said a good product is not difficult to market and expressed confidence in the ability of his party and whoever is its candidate to win even in a snap election.

According to the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, in a press release on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti, ‎the grants were given the communities by the Ekiti State Community and Social Development Agency (EKSDA).

Addressing the people, Fayose emphasized the need for continuity in government, noting that it was not about party, but the person who is on the driver’s seat.

“We are working and we will keep working for you. We will work until the last day. There must be progression and progressive growth in our state. A party may be good, but the driver being bad. It is not about party, but continuity of the good works we are doing. We are going to evolve a blueprint for the development of each community in our state.

“Since we are sincerely serving our people and our people ‎are supporting us, we are prepared for the governorship election even if it holds today. A good product is not difficult to market and sell. Some people, who were comparing themselves and dropping the name of international figures came and failed. Leaders must humble themselves and give the people the right of way. Our people need a leader they can lean on his shoulders,” he said.

Fayose assured the people that gradually, all the communities in the state would benefit from the grants.

The General Manager of EKSDA, Mr Steve Bamisaye, said each community chose the project they wanted to execute and would complement government’s contribution with their own 10 percent.

He added that local government chairmen would also assist in monitoring the projects.
