Boxers in Lagos and Ibadan axis have been drumming the beat of war as they get ready to battle each other in a boxing show tagged ‘The Brawl’ organized by a Nigerian United State of America based boxing promoter, Jonathan Odushola, the CEO of Jonadosh Boxing Promotions.
The Boxing show that has already been sanctioned by the apex boxing regulatory body in Nigeria, the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC) will feature eight professional bouts inside the indoor sports hall of Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan on the 24th of December 2022 according to information released by the organizer.
Mutiu Lawal (Tato) will confront Funsho Moshood in a six rounds LightWeight National Challenge Contest, while Oladeji Ibukunoluwa (Playboy) will tackle Akeem Salami in another six rounds Light Middle National Challenge Contest.
Ibadan’s Jamiu Akande popularly known as Sunshine will face Kolajo ‘Ultimate’ Toheeb in Light Weight National boxing challenge contest, and Dhikrulai ‘Killer’ Akingbade will attempt to kill Ojo Arabambi (OJ) in a six rounds National Bantam Weight challenge Contest.
Other bouts include a four rounds National Middleweight female challenge contest between Blessing ‘Star girl’ Godwin and Hadijat Salami and Kazeem Lawal will also battle Dahuud Yakubu in a six rounds National Middle Weight challenge contest. Another six rounds National Light Heavyweight challenge contest between Abdulrasheed Idowu popularly known as ‘I.D Buster’ and Wasiu ‘I.D money’ Jimoh.
The main bout of the day is the National Bantam Weight Challenge contest between the popular Ibadan based national champion, Habeeb ‘Ige’ Oladeji popularly known as the ‘Fire heater’ and Mojeed ‘Back Diamond’ Gbolahan.
The organizer has, however, promised an exciting boxing show that will spice up the yuletides’ season for the boxing fans in a secured atmosphere at the former Liberty Stadium, Ibadan.
