Governors, including those of Oyo, Lagos, Osun, Imo, Ondo and others have joined President Muhammadu Buhari to salute the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his 65th birthday anniversary.
Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, in his message, felicitated with the great leader on this particular occasion saying that he is a man of the people.
The governor, in a statement issued in Ibadan on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Mr. Yomi Layinka, described the former governor of Lagos State as a role model and shining star in the nation’s political firmament.
“Asiwaju is a detribalized Nigerian who has traversed the length and breadth of Nigeria, recruiting people of like minds in seeking the emancipation of the country and the entrenchment of an egalitarian society.
“His undying love for the downtrodden, the deprived and the ordinary folks across Nigeria is widely acknowledged, while his unflinching support for the President Muhammadu Buhari administration has helped tremendously in the fulfillment of its electioneering promises to Nigerians,’’ he said.
The governor also acknowledged Tinubu’s support to his governor, saying this had served as a motivating factor for the successes he had so far recorded in the last six years.
“As you are savouring the joy of this occasion, it is our prayer that God Almighty strengthens you so that you can continue working for the betterment of your fatherland,’’ he said.
The Osun State House of Assembly has also felicitated with the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the Celebration of his 65th birthday.
In a statement signed by the Chairman, House Committee on Information and Strategy, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, the Assembly described Tinubu as a quintessential, larger than life politician, with passion for democratic ideals and commitment to national development.
The Assembly under the leadership of Rt.Hon Najeem Salam noted that the former governor of Lagos state is a man of many parts, a bridge builder, philanthropist, master strategist and patriot who in many ways has raised the standard of civilization and human dignity.
Osun Assembly maintained that Nigeria owes Tinubu a huge gratitude for his determination, consistency, doggedness, vision and fearless disposition in the strengthening and enthronement of good governance in the country.
The parliament noted that Tinubu, who is acknowledged by friends and foe, far and near, as a rounded politician, pathfinder, investor, generous and people person, said, through his extra ordinarily large heart and unusual magnanimity of character, he had raised countless men from miry clay, produced several remarkable politicians and business leaders.
The statement pointed that Tinubu warm disposition, visionary leadership and cares for the oppressed and the under-privileged had endeared him to all and sundry.
The Assembly then advised him to remain focus in the days and years ahead at ensuring that democracy which he bravely fought for is not left to drift or suffer any form of setback.
While wishing him many more years in radiant health, Osun Assembly added that his many legacies and contributions to nation building, party politics and wealth creation are eloquent testimonies of his great personality as a distinguished Nigerian and pan Africanist.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on Tuesday also described Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as one rare breed of a pathfinder.
Aregbesola, saluting Tinubu on the occasion of his 65th birthday (which comes up on Wednesday) said history has already recorded the former Governor as having found ways where there were none and created opportunities for humanity where many did not see any.
The Osun Governor’s message signed by the Director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Office of the Governor, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, recognized Tinubu’s immense contributions to the political and economic growth of Nigeria and indeed Africa.
It said that Lagos began to emerge as a truly habitable state after what he described as “Tinubu’s mega-development vision” adding that the success story of Lagos has rubbed off on South-West, Nigeria and indeed, the whole of Africa.
Aregbesola said Tinubu’s capacity for talent hunt and leadership recruitment are unparalleled adding that his unique ability to spot the best hands for crucial assignments have elevated him to that pedestal of rare leader of men.
“Today, we are celebrating a giant pathfinder; one whose contributions to Nigeria’s political and economic growth have provided development scholars serious models for academic studies.
This is one Nigerian politician whose politics is known to have impacted heavily on humanity. From Lagos where God used him for the emergence of a new state, to Nigeria as a whole and indeed, the continent of Africa where his influence continues to be felt, Tinubu manifests in our lives in all ramifications,” the statement said
The Governor prayed for longer life for Tinubu just as he expressed the wish that his visions of a greater Nigeria and indeed, the Black race would continue to blossom.
Still on Bola Tinubu, Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation (AGF), Osun state chapter on Tuesday described him as an indisputable leader which leadership style remain incontestible in Nigeria politics.
The foundation who gave the commendation in a congratulatory message made in commemoration of the 65th Birthday Anniversary of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu also described him as an inventor of modern democracy in Nigeria.
The socio-political group commended Tinubu for restoring truism to the nation’s democracy as being manifested in the 2015 general elections that was universally adjudged to be free and fair in the electoral process in the country.
The statement which was issued by the AGF’s Coordinator, Comrade Tijani Sikiru, further described Tinubu as an unsung political hero and a worthwhile politician whose positive impacts remained unsurpassable in the annals of political history of Nigeria.
The group lauded Tinubu’s faithfulness that earned him the opportunity to break the record of restoring and installing the then opposition party to power in spite naked impunity, intimidation and political threats.
AGF described Tinubu’s political ideology and sagacity as the brain behind the monumental democratic change that has pervaded the socio-political spheres in the country.
According to the group, the wind of change that has been blowing all over the country in all sectors of the economy most importantly on security, agriculture, health and education had been the products of Tinubu’s masterpieces single handedly planned for Nigerians.
The AGF said the Tinubu’s political ideals had endeared the All Progressives Congress to the electorate and as well earned the party all-round success in most of the elections conducted since 2015.
The statement reads: “As a private sector worker, a businessman and two-term Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed has made indelible mark in the political history of our dear nation.
“Aside on the fact that he installed the present government led by President Muhammadu Buhari, he (Tinubu) remains the incontestable and non-competitive leader whose wealth of experience brought about the emergence of opposition to power.
“He broke the records in 2015 by installing President Muhammadu Buhari on the then opposition party to government. He also set path for true democracy and impactful governance.
“Tinubu is the sole engineer of change. Angel of change, true democrat and an indisputable patriotic leader that Nigeria has ever had in her political evolution.
“We believe firmly in his rising political profile that is built on the template of truth, sincerity and high sense of commitment on the upliftm of humanity.
“We felicitate with you as you clock 65 years on Wednesday and we believe that your gracious ageing remains a testimony to your Godliness, forthrightness, diligence and doggedness towards the improvement and development of mankind.
“As one of the pillars of the APC, we commend your visionary leadership style that has earned you a number of accolades and encomiums in all spheres of life.
