Nigeria 2009 Golden Eaglets revelation, Stanley Okoro has joined the Nigeria Professional Football League side, Plateau United with seven other players to fortify their position at the NPFL summit.

According to a statement signed by the media officer of the club, Albert Dakup, the eight players include two from the feeder team; three are players of the team who were not registered at the beginning of the season due to unforeseen circumstances and three more from other NPFL clubs.

The players are Stanley Okoro, who was nicknamed Little Messi during his Golden Eaglets playing days  and CHAN 2016 attacking midfielder Bature Yaro who joined from Wikki Tourists.

Others are Hamza Awolabi, Myep Bulus-Ghai, Emmanuel Odafe, Daddy Morris, Clinton Peter and Damian Longmiap.

Dakup explained that the new recruits have been training with the rest of the squad for about two weeks.

He said the signings were arrived at after a meeting between the Club’s management and the technical crew, with the latter drawing up the names of the new signings.

The media officer further expressed optimism that the acquisition of the new players will correct some of the lapses noticed in the first round with a view to sustaining the objectives of picking a continental ticket at the end of the season.

Plateau United, who lost 1-0 to Rangers International in Enugu last Wednesday in a rescheduled week 18 encounter are still top of the league table with 35 points from 19 matches.
