Osun state police command has arrested four persons in connection with the murder of an aged woman that was shot dead in Osogbo on Saturday.
The aged woman was shot dead during a bloody clash that ensued between two groups of drivers who were laying claim to the ownership of one of the motor parks in Osogbo.
The old woman was said to be one of the labourers that usually stay at old garage area of Osogbo where bricklayers would meet and hire them for daily work at building construction sites.
The incident happened at the popular Orisunbare market, in Osogbo.
It was gathered that the aged woman was caught up in a fight which was said to have started Friday night, near Dugbe Divisional Police station.
It was further learnt from traders at the Ikirun/Ilorin Motorpark, that some thugs working in the park had Friday night beat up another transporter who was relaxing at a nearby “joint” after returning from a road trip.
The assaulted man, was said to have arrived at the park early Saturday morning with his own group in a reprisal attack.
According to an eyewitness account, the rival driver groups were shooting sporadically and the old woman was hit by a stray bullet.
The Police Public Relation Officer for Osun State Police Command, SP Folasade Odoro who confirmed the incident assured that others would be apprehended adding that all those involved in the murder will be brought to book.
