Lagos School Kidnap: Three Militants Reportedly Involved

It has been reported that three of the notorious group that kidnapped six students from Igbonla Model School, Epe, Lagos State arrested on Wednesday are militants.

The suspects, were arrested in Benin, Edo State by the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team.

They were said to have embarked on a visit to one of their gang members when the IRT, headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari, swooped on them.

According to available information, the gang member being visited was injured in a recent gun battle with security agents.

Those arrested were Egelu Endurance, popularly known as Jubby, 25, a native of Abere town in Ovia South Local Government Area of Edo State; Stanley Yomi Irabomini, aka Powei, 25, also from Ovia South LGA of Edo State; and Bentel Endurance, 24, also from the same area.

The suspects, The Eagle Online was told, confessed to have participated in the kidnapping of prominent personalities in Lagos and Ogun States, including the Oniba of Iba, Oba S. Goriola; students of Nigeria Turkish International School, Isheri, Ogun State; landlords of an estate also in Isheri; and the students in Epe.

The suspects said they came to Benin to see their injured colleague and relax for a while before going back to the creek.

It was learnt that serious efforts to arrest the remaining gang members and rescue the school children are on.
