Nigerian table tennis star, Aruna Quadri has been seeded number one in the men’s singles event of the 4th International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Challenge Nigeria Open.
The seedings were made prior to the pre-championship press conference which was held on Tuesday at the Molade-Okoya Thomas Indoor Sports Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
The five-day competiton runs from Wednesday 9 August to Sunday 13 August, 2017.
Seeded number two in the men’s singles is Egyptian star, Omar Assar, while defending champion Benedek Olah from Finland is seeded number four and Ojo Onaolapo from Nigeria is seeded number 13.
For the women, Funke Oshonaike is seeded number six, Jieni Shao of Portugal is seeded number one, Hungary’s Szandra Pergel is seeded number two, while Egypt’s star Dina Meshref is seeded number three.
Present at the press conference were President, Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) Engineer Tikon Ishaku; Chairman, Local Organizing Committee and former Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Waheed Enitan Oshodi; Competition Manager ITTF Challenge Nigeria Open, Mounir Bessah from Algeria; Nigeria men and women table tennis stars Quadri and Oshonaike.
