The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by gubernatorial hopeful, Engineer Seyi Makinde, Tuesday, held a press conference to tackle Senator Rashidi Ladoja’s faction.

For now, the two factions in the party have taken different stands on the harmonisation of the state executive.

The faction loyal to Seyi Makinde, Tuesday, decided to pass a vote of confidence on the party’s zonal chairman, South West, Dr. Eddy Olafeso, against the decision of the other faction under the leadership of Senator Rashidi Ladoja.

Earlier on Monday, Ladoja’s faction passed a vote of no confidence on Olafeso over the role he reportedly played in the said harmonisation.

Olakunmi Mustapha, the state chairman favoured by Ladoja had alleged that Olafeso had connived with others to rock the boat of the party and frustrate Ladoja out of the party.

Senator Hosea Agboola, an ex-Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate who addressed a press conference in Ibadan contended that the Monday press conference addressed by Mustapha was “filled with half truths, outright misrepresentation and wishful thinking.”

It will be recalled that in the said ‘harmonisation’, Ladoja’s camp, which rejoined PDP from Accord got 14 slots while Seyi Makinde’s group from the  Social Democratic Party  (SDP), got 12 slots.

Sources within Ladoja’s camp, however, informed PMParrot that this arrangement can, in no way be acceptable to the former Governor of Oyo State.

Said our source “Our Oga, (Ladoja) has far more followership than Seyi Makinde and his group. What they are working towards is for us to leave the party for them, but we will not do that. We will continue to marshal our points.”
