All is now set for the people of Osun State to decide who, among the 48 contestants, will replace the incumbent governor of the state, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Officially, 48 political parties are participating in the election to produce the new occupant of the Oke-Fia Government House, Osogbo.

In the build-up to today’s exercise on Friday, there were heavy vehicular movements within the major towns across the state.

Also, traders made brisk business as buyers engaged in last-minute shopping at major markets like Igbona, Oluode, Oja Oba, Oke-Fia and Alekuwodo.

In Osogbo, the capital city, there were gridlocks on some major roads and junctions.

Worst hit by the traffic snarl were the Oke-Fia Roundabout area that links the Dada Estate, Ede and Iwo Road, Igbona Market road, Idi-Seke/Oja Oba Road and Lameco Junction area.

Police and other traffic officials were on hand at strategic points in the state capital to control the traffic.

Some security vehicles were also on patrol to ensure normalcy while men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other law enforcement agencies were also moving round the city.

Findings showed that the majority of the people moving into the city were journalists, election observers, politicians and prospective voters.
