Resumption Of Academic Activities Postponed At Ado Ekiti FedPoly

Resumption of academic activities at the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti for the first semester of the 2018/2019 academic session which was earlier slated to commence on Sunday 6th January, 2019 has been postponed till Sunday, 20th January, 2019.

According to a statement released and signed in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday by the Director of Public Relations (DPR) of the Federal Polytechnic in Ado Ekiti, Ade Adeyemi-Adejolu, “the reason for the postponement of the institution’s academic calendar activities for the first semester of the 2018/2019 academic session is to the review of the state of the nation and the ongoing ASUP nationwide strike.

“The decision was reached after a brief meeting of the top management of the institution held on Wednesday, 2nd January, 2019. The review of the state of the nation and the ongoing ASUP nationwide strike action embarked upon necessitated the postponement of the commencement of academic activities for the ND I, HND I and II as well as ND II (Non – SIWES) Students from Monday, 7th January to Monday, 21st January, 2019 for both the Part Time students as well as all Full Time Fresh Students of the institution”.

The statement therefore explained that fresh students are expected to continue with their screening and clearance processes to confirm their admission status pending the commencement of academic activities as from Monday, 21st January, 2019.

The statement equally advised the fresh students to take advantage of the postponement of lectures to conclude their admission and registration formalities, while returning Students are to await further instructions subject to the emerging situation on the state of the nation.

In the same vein, the DPR, Ade Adeyemi – Adejolu stated that “Part Time ND/HND Students of year II and III have been directed to continue their registration formalities unfailingly from Monday, 7th January, 2019”.
