Amotekun: South West States Agree On Uniform Bill

The six Houses of Assembly in the South West have agreed to adopt a single legal document which will make the practice and operation of Amotekun security outfit uniform across the region.

The Chairman, Conference of Speakers of South West States, Hon Oleyelogun Bamidele David gave the indication at the meeting of the conference in Ibadan on Wednesday.

Hon. Oleyelogun said the uniformity of the bill would ensure a synergy of operation in terms of working relationship, intelligence sharing, training and others among the Amotekun corps across the six states for effective security operation and management.

He assured that the conference would not rest until an acceptable law which will give a full legal backing to the security outfit is passed.

The meeting was also attended by states’ Attorneys General to harmonize various observations, suggestions and conflicting areas identified during the public hearings conducted by each state.

The meeting was attended by Oyo Speaker-Hon Adebo Ogundoyin,  Hon Timothy Owoeye-Osun, Hon Bamidele David Oleyelogun-Ondo, Hon Mudashiru Obasa-Lagos , Hon Funminiyi Afuye and Hon Olakunle Oluomo of Ogun State.
