Despite the seeming nonchalant attitude of Nigerians towards the observance of anti-COVID -19 protocols as dictated by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the chairman of Oyo state Motor Parks Managers, Alhaji Lamidi Mukaila aka Auxiliary, has instructed commercial drivers in the state to continue to protect themselves and their passengers.

PMParrot reliably gathered that Auxiliary recently instructed all drivers to continue to wear face masks and advise their passengers to do same.

He said it is very important for the drivers and passengers alike to wear their face masks when boarding vehicles at parks within the state to guide against the spread of the disease that is believed to be airborne adding that it may be spread easily through day to day interactions among people.

The Chairman of Oyo Motor Parks Managers who is one of the oldest drivers around with over 40 years’ experience in the profession implored the branch leaders of the drivers and their executives to continue to educate their colleagues as well as passengers in their various units on the need to adhere to the use of face masks.

He further demonstrated to the drivers how to properly wear a face mask to meet the NCDC guideline while he reassured them that the COVID-19 virus can be overcome if the laid down guidelines by NCDC are strictly adhered to.

Alhaji Lamidi Mukaila thanked the NCDC for the constant sensitization and enlightenment campaign it rolled out since the outbreak of the virus in the country in February, 2020 and urged the Chairmen of units of motor park in the state to cooperate with NCDC and the Government by following the laid down guidelines.

He admonished drivers in Oyo state to be active and play their parts in helping in the fight against the spread of the disease. He said this would be sustained based on the adherence to the wearing of face masks in public places especially when carrying out their day to day economic activities in the parks where it is difficult to maintain social distancing.

The Oyo state Motor Parks Managers’ boss also used the opportunity to thank the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, for the privilege given him to serve the state and for giving matters that concern the transport industry in Oyo state needed attention. He reaffirmed his trust in the peoples’ Governor to reposition the state and take it to the greatest heights.

Finally, Auxiliary made a promise to all Oyo State drivers and Motor Park managers that he will always protect their interests and give priority to matters that have to do with their welfare.
