The Dr Kayode Fayemi-led government in Ekiti State has resettled two families from the State Transit Home at Agric Olope Area in Ado Ekiti and reunited them with their respective communities.

A family consisting an aged grandmother (name withheld) who lost her son and breadwinner of the household and was left with four grandchildren to cater for was resettled in Ado Ekiti while another family of nine (names also withheld) was relocated to Aiyetoro Ekiti.

The families were empowered with cash, furnished apartments, kitchen utensils, household materials, grinding machines amongst others towards ensuring a good-start for them and make them self-reliant.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Eunice Oladimeji who made this known in Ado Ekiti, said that the development was at the instance of the wife of the Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi.

Stressing that the adults in the resettled families had been trained to facilitate smooth start-up, Dr. Oladimeji said that the Governor’s wife deserved accolades for the kind gesture.

She enjoined the beneficiaries to take advantage of the opportunity provided by Government, stressing the need to make judicious use of the empowerment funds and the generosity of Government.

A community leader from Aiyetoro Ekiti, Mr. Aina Kayode commended the State Government and the Governor’s wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi for their kind gesture towards improving the lot of the benefiting families.

Mr. Kayode said that the entire community would be eternally grateful for the act of generosity towards their kinsmen and would always pray for the success of the administration.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Wife of the Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi for her motherly role in resolving their predicaments.

They pledged to judiciously utilize the funds and other items given to them, adding that they would not only make themselves self-reliant, but useful to the society.
