Revd. (Dr.) Lekan Babatunde, is the General Overseer, Jesus is king Ministries. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oyo State Chapter and he is equally a member of the advisory Board of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).

He was recently hosted live on the popular Splash 105.5FM, Radio Show, Parrot Xtra/Ayekooto on Radio anchored by Olayinka Agboola. During the interaction, the General Overseer made some mind-blowing revelations. Excerpts:

Can you share your experience as a Man of God on the concept of walking and working with the Lord?

It is not something that is easy but by the Grace of God, it became easier. When I started, I did not know that I would eventually become a Minister of God, I did not even know that I would meet myself where I am right now; a lot of events happened in my journey of life that made it impossible for me to neglect the heavenly mandate.

Do you wish to talk about some of these experiences that made you to respond to the call of God?

As I said earlier, I did not plan to do the work of God. I just wanted to be going to church to worship and be rendering my best as a member. One day, I went to Abeokuta to greet my mother’s younger sister and I was about to step into her house, I saw three angels standing in an horizontal position, all of a sudden; the one in number two position moved to number one because he wanted to speak to me and I was so excited.

It was in that excitement I called my mother’s younger sister and said auntie, come and see angels. As she ran out, the angels disappeared. It was on that day that I really confirmed and got the impression that truly, God is real.

The second occasion was on a day I was on my way to the University College Hospital (UCH) – around Secretariat Round About, I saw a man whose two legs were crippled and half-naked. As I saw him, my mind told me to help the man but I did not even bother  but the statement kept ringing in my ears and at the end of the day I went to meet him, asking him of his name; and he said he name was Lateef Adewusi.  I asked if he was a Christian or Muslim and he replied that he was a Muslim. I asked him if he had heard about Christ and he said no. Afterwards, I preached and prayed with him to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and as I was praying, he rose up and started walking.

After the whole episode, all the members of his families came to render appreciation at Christ Apostolic Church at Oke Ife branch. Then, I had not even started my ministry. The one that crowned it all was the one that happened one afternoon while I was sleeping and I heard a great noise from the opposite house; I actually thought they were fighting so I went there to check what was happening; thank God, I went with one of my daughters. On getting there, it was a child that gave up the ghost, it was impossible for me to return back, and I decided to enter.

My daughter that went with me told me that her mind kept telling her that if I prayed for the dead child, he would rise again and as I entered and prayed for the child, the child came back to life.

So, I will say here that all these symbolic divine achievements made me to believe that God is real and he wanted me to go into His ministry to serve Him as one of his Shepherds.

What are your challenges so far?

There are so many challenges and if I should start, it will take a lot of time.

You will soon be turning 70, how does it feel to attain that age sir?

I felt good to clock 70 years old especially in Nigeria. But it is not easy. As a matter of fact, it is not easy to be 70 anywhere in the world in these present times. But, I give God all the glory for the opportunity He has given me.

We are sure you are aware of the situation of things in Nigeria today. Sir, what do you think should be done to make things better in the country?

My prayer is that God should give us a God-fearing leader. The Holy Spirit should enable them to fear Him because only those who fear God will practice equity, equality and fairness in politics.
