In the spirit of the Holy month of Ramadan, the Chief Executive Officer of Kayrom Lee Group of Companies, Ambassador Romoke Ayinde has kick-started her plans of using religious teachings to curb youth unrest menace in Oyo State.

Ambassador Ayinde, who is also the National Matron of the Supreme Human Right Society, while addressing the Koranic school teachers present at the inauguration of the scheme of using religious teachings to transform youth to become respectable citizens at the Kayrom Lee Gym and Fitness Center, Obafemi Awolowo stadium, Ibadan, said her goal in-conjunction with well-meaning Nigerians, is to lead youths back to God with Koranic school that adult enjoyed when they are young.

“Most of the Muslim youths of nowadays don’t know the basic teachings of Islam which teaches morals and values and this has affected their behavior in the society today. We as adults and their role models, we must endevour to pilot them back to the teachings of Islam through Koranic school that we as adults enjoyed when we are young so that the issue of them turning to touts, ‘area boys’ and street urchins will be a thing of the past,” Ambassador Ayinde said.

Speaking further, Ambassador Ayinde, who is the founder of RACBAR Academy, a philanthropic foundation that grooms children in various sports, said the plan adopted for the scheme is to use modern day Islamic teachings that will be understood easily by the youth to teach them so as to get them interested.

“We will start by identifying areas where each Koranic teachers can be helpful to the scheme, then we are planning to have three centers where women will be teaching girls and men will be teaching boys. The youth within the vicinity of each center can converge to learn about God under the tutelage of trained Islamic clerics and they will be encouraged to join because some of them want to attend but there is no such school around.

“Then we will cater for the well-being of the teachers by providing some funds for them as incentives and snacks will also be provided for the youth during the class,” she added.

One of the Koranic teachers at the event, Ustadh Abdul Salam Omo Laani said the gesture is a welcome development which he believes can be achievable if it is properly planned.

“What you are planning to do is workable if it is planned properly because many of our children who are now on the streets will be returning to God. May Allah continue to bless and enlarge you for this notable scheme.

“If many well to do people in our society can emulate your gesture, the issue of touting, menace of ‘Area boys’ and youth unrest will be thing of the past in our environment,” he said.
