Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the Ondo State Governor, has visited the palace of Olowo of Owo, Oba (Dr) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, to console with him over the unfortunate Sunday gunmen attack on the Catholic Church, along Owaluwa Street, in Owo where scores of worshippers were gruesomely murdered with unspecified number with various degree of injuries.

The Governor who was accompanied by all the State heads of security operatives and part of his cabinet members, expressed his sadness over the ugly incident said, the attack was a deliberate assault on the sensibility of the people of the kingdom and, it is now time the people rise up to defend themselves as government is also ready to support moves by the local inhabitants to go after these hoodlums thereby forestalling future attack.

Akeredolu used the visit to condole with Oba Ogunoye, the people of the Kingdom, the Catholic Church and families of the victims.

Responding, Oba Ogunoye thanked the Governor and his entourage for the prompt visit saying, for deeming it fit to visit him and scene of crime showed how sensitive he is  to the plight of people in distress.

The Monarch, who said the unfortunate attack was unexpected, however, informed that, Owo is now ready even more than before to collaborate with Government in securing the lives and property of its people as the people are never known to be cowards.
