Four travelers, who included a baby girl, died on Sunday at Ogijo along the Sagamu-Ikorodu Road in Ogun State when a bus marked AKD232XV collided with a Toyota Sienna bus with registration number LND945EL from the rear.

Four men, however, survived with injuries.

Chief Route Commander/Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Florence Okpe, who confirmed the accident on behalf of the Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, said the injured victims were taken to Dasochris Hospital, Gbaga, Ogijo, while the family took custody of the remains of the dead.

Okpe attributed the cause of the accident to over “speeding and wrongful overtaking”, which led to rear collision of the two vehicles.

She quoted Uga as sympathising with the  family of the victims and advised motorists to desist from over-speeding, concentrate while driving to know when it is safe to overtake and obey road markings during overtaking.
