A former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Oyo state, Mutalubi Ojo Adebayo, SAN, has accused the organisers of the much-talked-about ‘nationwide protest’ scheduled to start next Thursday, August 1 of being idle and clueless.

The legal luminary made this accusation while featuring on a popular Radio Show anchored by Isaac Brown and broadcast live on Fresh 105.9fm in Ibadan on Saturday morning.

Apparently referring to their requests, Ojo expressed disappointment in the organisers saying “I am disappointed in them because some of them are even lawyers. It looks as if they are even more clueless and blank than the government they are supposed to be opposing. There are better ways of registering grievances.”

The senior lawyer, however, urged security agents not to shoot at the protesters if and when they actually carry out their plans of hitting the streets on August 1.

“Our security operatives must be on top of the situation, they must be in control and prevent anarchy and break down of law and order.”

While speaking about the Federal Government being led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Asiwaju of  Ita-Ege & Idi- Aro had this to say: “The first thing I will say about Tinubu’s government is that there are too many round pegs in square holes in his government. He has turned the government into a ‘Lagos affair’, jobs for the boys.

“Both his Minister of Finance and the Central Bank Governor are clueless. They are there all because they worked with Tinubu till 2007 and what have they done since then? They are stale. Baba (Mr President) should do something. If he succeeds, he will take credit, if otherwise, the blame will go to him too. He should not play politics with the future of Nigerians.

“His decision to float the naira and to stop payment of subsidy were good policies. But they were not well thought out. Now, the US dollar has crossed to over N1,600 and petrol queues are everywhere.”
