One of the outlets of Shoprite Supermart located within the popular Cocoa Mall in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State has temporarily shut down it business activities.
PMParrot can authoritatively confirm that as at Sunday, December 15, 2024, the retail outlet was still under lock.
A security man who spoke with our correspondence confirmed to us that the outlet had to be shut down because there was no power supply.
“Their big electricity generator packed up sometime ago and IBEDC has not been supplying power,” submitted the unnamed security man.
PMParrot, however, could not confirm if IBEDC actually gave Shoprite the University College Hospital treatment by disconnecting it from the main grid.
Another insider confirmed that “Nigeria has already ‘started happening’ to this Shoprite located within Cocoa Mall. The first problem they have is that there is little or no parking space for customers. This has greatly reduced patronage. In addition, their escalator and other facilities have not been working.”
Attempt to call Victor Ayetoro, the spokesperson of O’dua Investment Company did not yield any result. His his telephone was permanently busy.
