Oyo Govt Sympathizes With Family Of Ojo Peter, Slain Ibadan Journalist

    The Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde on Media, Dr Suleimon Olanrewaju has commiserated with the family and colleagues of late Ojo Peter, ParrotXtra Magazine’s former Assistant Editor who was killed in Ibadan by suspected armed robbers recently.

    The experienced mediaman was gunned down and killed somewhere in Molete, Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State, on August 18, 2025.

    Dr. Suleimon Olanrewaju further assured to do his best to ensure that the state government will support the family of the late hardworking journalist.

    The Special Adviser on Media to the Oyo State Governor stated this on Tuesday while featuring on a weekly radio show, ParrotXtra/Ayekooto on Radio, anchored by Olayinka Agboola and broadcast live on Splash 105.5 FM, Felele Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State recently.

    The CPS further stated that the death of Ojo Peter who worked last with DailyMonitor, is a sad one while revealing that he worked with the late journalist at the Nigerian Tribune Newspaper.

    “When he started his career, I was one of those who mentored him; he joined us from the Monitor newspaper as a reporter, and we both had a good working relationship. I am saddened because over the past five years, security has improved a great deal in Oyo State. The state government is not slowing down on security,” he said.

    Speaking further, Dr. Olanrewaju commiserated with the family, praying God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
