The Oyo State Police command has again issued a stern warning to trouble makers in the state to desist from their nefarious activities or be ready to face the wrath of the law.

In a special release signed personally by the state’s Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Odude during the week, the police condemned the act of gun-play as carried out at the Palace of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji during an official ceremony.

Said the police “We condemn this criminal act in strong and unequivocal terms.  We have since commenced full scale investigation into the incident with a view to bringing the culprits to justice.

“While investigation into the incident is being carried out, we want to use this medium to sternly warn hoodlums and other unscrupulous elements that the police will not fold their arms and allow criminal activities soar in any part of the state.  Similarly, we will deal decisively with individuals or groups whose activities are inimical to peace and harmony currently being enjoyed in the state.

“Citizens are advised to go about their legitimate businesses without fear. We are resolutely committed to providing adequate security as we have always done for the good people of Oyo State.  We shall neither fail not falter in protecting the lives and property of law abiding citizens in the state.

“While soliciting the support of the good people of the state and other security agencies,  we enjoin anyone with useful information that could help nab the culprits to give such information to the police without delay by calling any of the GSM numbers earlier given out or call the Oyo State Command Control Room No. 08081768614.”
