The Provost, Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo, Dr. Rasaq Adetunji Adefabi, JP has urged staff of the College to be proactive and more dedicated to their duties.

The Provost made this call on Wednesday at a 2-day Workshop on “Understanding the fundamentals of governance ethics and public service value mentality; the roles of public employees towards an ethically sound organization in the change era” organised by the  Centre for Ethical Value, Lokoja, Kogi State in conjunction with the EACOED College Management  held at the Provost Conference Hall of the College.

According to the Provost, “our Management shall continually invest on capacity building as a way of improving staff performance”.

Speaking further, the Provost thanked all members of staff for their “understanding during the over 26 months agony and pain of delayed salary. We shall surely get over it as this is our own Jerusalem,” he said.

In his remarks, the Executive Director, CEVCO, Prince Saleh Yaqub condemned the unethical attitude of Nigerians which has eaten deep into their marrows. This, he said led to the workshop. He hammered the need for restructuring as the only panacea to Nigeria problems and charged all participants to go out there to preach the gospel of ethical conducts through actions. Together, we shall make Nigeria great again, he submitted.

The Workshop which had 100 participants cutting across members of the College Management, Deans of Schools and Students Affairs, Directors of Programmes, Heads of Service Divisions/Units, Heads of Departments, School Officers and Union leaders was sponsored by the College Management. Various sections of training including practicals came up during the programme.

In his brief remarks, the Registrar of the College, Alh. Teslim Ladimeji Adediran, JP thanked the Provost and other management members for allowing the programme to come up. He thanked the organizers of the workshop for the good job done and promised that the train-the-trainers retreat shall add value to the College System.

The Centre had on March 1, 2018 admitted the Provost as an Ambassador of the Ethics while the Registrar was given a Certificate of Ethical Conscience.

The Workshop was later declared closed by the Provost, Dr. Rasaq Adetunji Adefabi after which certificates of participation were distributed to members.
