‘Why Fayemi’s Educational Reforms Should Be Supported’

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Folusho Daramola has called on stakeholders in the education sector to support the ongoing reforms of the Kayode Fayemi-led administration to reposition the education sector in the state.

The Commissioner who made the call in Ado-Ekiti at the presentation of trophies to winners of the 2019 Governor’s Cup quiz, debate and essay writing Cup competitions among primary and secondary schools in the state stressed that government’s relentless efforts were already yielding positive results in the sector.

Mr. Daramola who said that all hands must be on deck to sustain the successes already achieved in the education sector since the present administration came into office in October 2018, advised all stakeholders to remain committed to the vision and mission of the government to ensure that the state regains its pride of place as the Fountain of Knowledge in Nigeria.

He commended the performance of government public schools in the competition noting that the enhanced attitude to work of teachers of government owned schools in the state was already yielding the desired results.

Shepard International School Ado-Ekiti,  Pillar Gate of Success, Ijero-Ekiti, New Creation School, Ado-Ekiti, Science College, Ayede-Ekiti, Saint Loius Grammar School, Ikere-Ekiti emerged winners in the various categories of the competition that had 258 Participants drawn from  primary and secondary schools in the state

Speaking on behalf of the other students, Master Covenant Adeosun of Shepherd International High School, Ado-Ekiti thanked the Governor Kayode Fayemi and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for organizing the various competitions which provided them the opportunity to display the potentials, adding that the competitions had made them more knowledgeable and academically sound.

The competition started in 2017 to help create healthy rivalry among schools and a forum for students to exhibit their talents that will enhance self-discovery.
