When in 2019 youthful Honourable Ahmad Isa came out boldly to declare interest in leading our country from darkness to light, many people thought it was a fluke.
His declaration to contest the Presidency on the platform of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, further heightened the doubt of naysayers.
First, they did not believe he was serious, noting that fact that YDP was a relatively new party. Second, in a contest of so called powerful, noted and seasoned moneybags, they never saw shred of hope in the aspiration of this young hopeful. The question was how would he get the resources to confront the seasoned juggernauts of Nigerian politics? It was also thought that the old political bosses might be unwilling to hand over baton to the younger folks.
Well, the rest is history. Not only did Ahmad surprise the naysayers; he proved that with determination and unyielding hope, anyone can aspire to the highest position in the land. Despite the eventualities, he made a huge, poignant statement that nothing is impossible for a man of vision and virile hope.
Record must bet set straight that Ahmad’s journey of unfettered hope predated 2019. From childhood, Ahmad has always proved to be a man of great courage, determination and blessing with the massive will to break barriers.
Born on June 6, 1986 in Munjibir Town, Munjibir Local Government Area of Kano State and happily married, Ahmad had valued quality education from an early stage.
With strong parental upbringing Ahmad had his education, in descending order, at IUSEBA University of Science, Benin Republic, 2018-2022; Plateau State Polytechnic Barkin Ladi, 2007–2009; Sokoto State Polytechnic, 2004–2005; Sunnah Private High School, Bukuru, 1991–1997 and, in the beginning, Pilot Science Primary School Bisichi, 1985 – 1991.
With this kind of academic background, that Ahmad Isa has the requisite grooming to put him in good stead in handling state affairs and at the top levels of governance is not in doubt. Besides his University Degree, other laurels include Higher National Diploma in Public Administration, 2009 National Diploma in Public Administration – 2005, National Examination Council (NECO) – 1997 and First School Leaving Certificate – 1991. Talking of going through the grind to be moulded into the current fine shape, Honourable Ahmad’s Isa is exceptional.
Not to mention his impressive work experience before he dabbled into politics including meritorious services at Kano State Bureau of Statistics and adequate knowledge of field work as a top officer of Tropic Mining Nigeria Ltd. Honourable Ahmad Isa is one of the foremost experts in the solid mineral industry, a wealth of experience that would be a great asset to the people of Kano and Nigeria at large if given a chance to serve.
Talking of his being politically savvy, Honourable Isa’s experience as a former Presidential candidate during the 2019 General Election under YDP (Young Democratic Party) is a big plus for his current status as Kano State Governorship aspirant under the YPP (Young People Party)

AHMAD ISA AND HIS POLITICS OF IDEA
Ahmad Isa is a man of ideas. He believes in robust, forward-looking debates about the future of Nigeria and his home state of Kano. He believes that rather than dissipate energy on profitless bickering and unending fraternal battles, Nigerian politicians should devote their talents and resources to forging a progressive path to greatness. Ahmad believes in robust debates about how our society would be better for all, how the poor and the less privileged would have a better life and how our diversities can be harnessed for the greater good of all and sundry and for the unity and glory of our country.
AHMAD ISA AND YOUTH PARTICIPATION IN POLITICS
As a youth himself, Honourable Isa is an unwavering advocate of the Not Too Young To Run movement. He believes that, given their energy, education, robust world view and freshness of innovation, Nigerian youths should be given greater chance to hold key positions in our body politic. Recalling the great achievements of such young people as US President Barack Obama, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron and many other World leaders who proved that the young can excel in leadership positions, Honourable Isa believes that young Nigerians should never be denied the opportunity to serve at the highest levels. In a world of modern technology when everything now belongs to the global village, Isa believes that Nigeria can no longer afford to deny the youth their right to leadership position. No wonder he decided to pitch his tent with the YPP, a youth-friendly party.
POLITICS WITHOUT BITTERNESS
Despite his political affiliation, Ahmad Isa believes in Politics without bitterness. He believes that the goal of all politicians is to serve the people without rancour. To him, everyone has the right to join any political party of his or her choice and nobody should be left behind in the quest to make Nigeria a better nation. Honourable has made a lot of handshakes across the Niger and he has friends across the political divide. He is a valid patriot whose unwavering belief in a bright future informed his desire to want to serve his people in Kano State and the Nigerian nation at large.
THE KANO OF HIS DREAM
Honourable Ahmad Isa’s home state, Kano State, has always been on the front burner of his love for progress and development. While Ahmad believes in the contributions of the founding fathers and past leaders of the state, he thinks that with all the abundant resources, both human and material that Kano is endowed with, the state should really be much better than it is today. To him, it is the destiny of Kano to rise to the top of developed regions of the world. By now, he believes, Kano should have reached the heights attained by places like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Honkong. As the commercial nerve centre of the North, Kano deserves much better than it is getting from its leaders today. He also believes that the youths should be given greater say in how they are governed. Being with fresh ideas, well educated and highly exposed to modern trends in statecraft, Ahmad Isa believes that the young people of Kano must wake up and help lift Kano State to a Brighter future.
As this amiable gentleman joins the race for Kano State Government House, the good people of Kano surely have a great opportunity to choose between business as usual and business unusual. The race will surely be interesting.
