The founder and convener of Akande Tunde Movement, Dr. Akande Tunde Kazeem has announced that the organization, in partnership with Ido Local Government Education Authority (IDLGEA), will be offering free summer coaching classes to senior secondary students across the LG in Oyo State.

The organization is a reputable one in Oyo State that has facilitated several humanitarian projects in education, health, agriculture, peace building, and enhancing security.

The convener, Dr. Akande Kazeem announced the commencement of the coaching classes at a press briefing earlier this week where he mentioned that the coaching classes will also accommodate students preparing for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB examinations.

Sharing his thoughts about the initiative, the Secretary of the Education Authority, Alhaji Mumini Bukola noted that the authority welcomed the kind gesture of Akande Tunde Movement noting that it will further assist the efforts of the Oyo state Government, under the leadership of Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, in providing better education for all under the Omi Tuntun 2.0 agenda.

Six Schools To Be Used

He continued that the authority has granted the organization approval to use six schools in the six zones in Ido Local Government for the classes. The schools are St. Andrews Model School, Omi Adio; Ido High School, Ido; Akufo Community High School, Akufo; Apata Community High School, Bembo; St. Peters Anglican School, Apete; and Idiya Community Grammar School, Idiya.

Akande further noted that the intensive coaching class will commence on the 21st of August. Speaking on the scholarship, he mentioned that the organization is willing to pay examination fees for students who show diligence and commitment during the summer classes.

Akande noted that it’s not enough to pay for examinations for students as it’s not a sustainable practice. He opined that to ensure sustainable development, candidates must be duly prepared for the examinations and be followed up even after the examinations.

Akande, who has over two decades of experience in educational consultancy added that the organization is willing to assist the tertiary education of outstanding students, while concluding by highlighting the vision of the movement that largely relates to promoting communal prosperity and pledged that the movement will continue to assist communities in Ido Local Government and Oyo State at large.

“Forms for the coaching classes are now available at Akande Tunde Movement (ATM) Building, Opposite Polytechnic of Ibadan, the earlier mentioned schools, and at the secretariat of the Ido Local Government Education Authority.” He noted.
