Hon. Olayinka Omikunle, member representing Ibadan South-East Constituency II in the Oyo State House of Assembly, has felicitated Nigerians on the occasion of Democracy Day.

The lawmaker further acknowledged the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes who contributed to the growth and sustenance of democratic governance.

In his message, Hon. Omikunle acknowledged the courage, dedication, and commitment of those who fought for the ideals of freedom, justice, and good governance while describing their contributions as the foundation of Nigeria’s democratic journey.

He further expressed confidence in Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership vision and developmental achievements, noting that the governor could bring about even greater transformation and progress if given the opportunity to serve at a higher level.

Governor Makinde has demonstrated purposeful leadership and a commitment to people-centred governance.

The lawmaker also prayed for the safe return of the students and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area while urging security agencies and relevant stakeholders to intensify efforts toward securing their release.

Hon. Omikunle further called on Nigerians to remain united and continue praying for the peace, stability, and prosperity of the country.

He, however, urged citizens to uphold democratic values by promoting peace, tolerance, and collective responsibility in the collective task of building a better Nigeria.
