Disc jockey, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has expressed admiration for her father, billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, saying she wishes she had his brain for business.
Cuppy shared this in a LinkedIn post on Monday, saying she never misses an opportunity to learn from him whenever he visits London.
“Whenever Mr Femi Otedola comes to London, I MUST pick his brain! Why do I think it’s important to understand how my dad thinks? Tbh, I wish I had his brain. Genius!” she wrote.
She said watching her father grow his investment in First HoldCo Plc reshaped her understanding of business beyond profit-making.
“Watching him grow his investment in First HoldCo Plc has taught me that business isn’t just about making money, but creating value for others,” she said.
The DJ also pointed to the financial group’s new dividend policy, approved by its board in July 2026, which targets a minimum payout of 60 per cent of its annual profit after tax to shareholders, subject to regulatory approvals.
Cuppy further lauded her father’s confidence in the company, noting that he had committed over $450 million of his personal funds to its shares.
“What fascinates me even more is his confidence. He’s invested over $450 million of his own money in shares.
“Now that’s putting your money where your mouth is!” she wrote.
She said she’s come to value her father’s mindset more as she grows older.
“The older I get, the more I realise that the REAL wealth is in the way he thinks. I’ll always be his student. Very happy to learn,” she added.
