Ondo Guber Poll: New Akure NBA Boss Calls For Crisis Free Elections

The Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Akure Branch, Barrister Rotimi Olorunfemi has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and all the relevant security agencies not to compromise their standard or be biased in the cause of carrying out their official duties during the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State.

The new NBA boss who made the call while speaking with PMParrot correspondent in Akure, the capital city of Ondo State appealed to all those saddled with the responsibilities of conducting the polls to allow the will of the Ondo State people to prevail.

He, however, called for a free fair and credible election where all the parties will be given level playing ground while advising politicians in Ondo State not to promote violence during their electioneering campaigns in the State.

The legal practitioner who claimed to have spent almost 20 years in the legal profession equally revealed the intention of the Akure branch of NBA to continue to encourage educating, sensitizing and begging the politicians to allow peace to reign before, during and after the gubernatorial polls scheduled for 10th October, 2020.

Speaking further, the new NBA boss expressed his optimism to move the association forward despite some itches the body experienced in the past.

He pointed out that the branch was in a very good state before the crisis that rattled the body about sometime ago, stressing that the branch has been able to conquer its challenges and resolved every crisis, while commending the past leaderships of NBA Akure.

He, however, promised to focus more on the welfare of all lawyers in Akure Branch, adding “I promised to improve and prioritize the welfare of members during my campaign, and that’s where I am going to start from”.
