...Baba-Awo Awogbemiga Bogunmbe...says loot money owners can be fished out by 'Ifa'...

An Ifa Priest and National Social Secretary of the Ifa Council, Baba-Awo Awogbemiga Bogunmbe, has revealed the readiness of traditional religion worshipers to assist the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to uncover owners of  monies recently found by the anti-graft agency in different parts of the country.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with PMParrotng, Bogunmbe, who is also the President of the Ogundameji Temple, Ibadan, admonished President Muhammadu Buhari to seek spiritual assistance from traditional religion for the on-going anti-corruption war to be successful.

The Ifa priest noted that this became necessary in view of the claims that the President is not enjoying the support of both the judiciary and legislature in his bid to tackle corruption in the country.

Bogunmbe maintained that traditional religion has been used to help many Nigerians to solve their social, economic and spiritual problems more than any other religion in the country, adding that same could be used to solve national problems like corruption and insecurity.

The Ifa priest, who is also the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Oyo state chapter of the Ifa Council, blamed traditional rulers, especially in Yorubaland for failing to properly propagate traditional religions, as custodians of the cultural heritage of the Yorubas.

He, however, commended the efforts of people like Professor Idowu Odeyemi, Professor Wande Abimbola and Chief Yemi Elebuibon, for using their knowledge, resources and personalities to promote Ifa religion.

While speaking on the forthcoming Ela festival and the World Ifa day, Bogunmbe appealed to governors of all Southwest states to emulate Governor Rauf Aregbesola of the State of Osun and the Lagos state government in declaring public holidays for traditional religion worshipers to celebrate their festivals.
