Igando Fight: Count RTEAN Out – Ade Ikuesan

0

Following the rumour of the clash between the members of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) and that of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) at the Igando Area of Lagos State on Tuesday, a top ranked leader of Lagos RTEAN has counseled members of the public to disregard the news making the rounds.

A press release circulated and signed by Mr. Ade Ikuesan, the State Chairman of the Motorcycle/Tricycle Sector of the Lagos State RTEAN debunked the claim and called on the members of the public to disregard the news because it is false.

Ade Ikuesan stated that “the RTEAN Lagos State branch or any of its affiliates is not involved in any clash with the NURTW as being speculated in some quarters.

“Those parading themselves as members of the RTEAN in the Igando Area are no longer members of the Union as they have been banned by the court of a competent jurisdiction”, the statement contained.

Ade Ikuesan in the press release went on to call on the Lagos State Government and the members of the public to be weary of the activities of the said characters and trouble makers as their activities may negatively affect the peace already being enjoyed in the State.

“The statement equally enjoined the members of the public to go about their activities and businesses and urged them not to hesitate to deal decisively with characters that may want to throw the state into confusion”.
