The Team Manager of Ibadan soccer Lord, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Dimeji Lawal has commended the team’s players for their positive response to training ahead of the 2021/22 season of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Addressing the players after Wednesday’s training session at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Kabongo, as the former Super Eagles’ winger is fondly called, said he was highly impressed with the progress made by the team’s preparation to the new season.
“I must confess, I’m excited with the way we are making progress day by day. On a daily basis, I can see that we are improving as a team and I want to attribute this to your (players’) commitment and response to training.
“With what you are doing, you are making the coaches job easy and I know they are happy and everyone of us is happy with the way we are going”, said the ex-Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles star.
While charging the players to keep up the good work, the ex International assured them of the club’s commitment to their welfare, saying that the management was already working towards an improved welfare package for them.
Also speaking, Chief coach of the Oluyole Warriors, Edith Olumide Agoye, challenged the players to add more to their zeal, stressing that though there has been commendable improvement, there is still room for more.
“Like the Team Manager said, we are gradually getting what we wanted but we are not there yet. I’m sure if we continue this way, with more efforts, we will be very difficult for any team to confront”, said Esin, as the gaffer is popularly called.
Meanwhile, in continuation of their build up to the season, the Oluyole Warriors, will on Thursday, take on Marvelous FC in an IFA league fixture, billed for 4pm inside the main bowl of the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium.
