Pastor Evelyn TB Joshua has reeled off successful projects embarked upon by the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) one year after its reopening.

The widow of the SCOAN’s founder, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, spoke at a first thanksgiving service on Sunday to commemorate the ministry reopening on December 5, 2021.

It followed the demise of Joshua who reportedly died peacefully in a praying position on June 5, 2021, a week before his 58th birthday, without any health concerns.

An excited Evelyn who declared it was just the beginning, expressed gratitude to God for successes recorded in a space of one year.

“Our story has been one of success, progress in all dimensions.

“We have kept moving from one level to the other in our spiritual journey, having the Holy Spirit as our chief driver.

“He has always provided the needed confidence and strength of the spirit for the leadership of the ministry,” she said.

Delving into the projects, the SCOAN leader said: “One task we have taken as a church is to honour the elders who have stood firmly as our pillars.

“We have supported our old testament members with cash gifts as well as clothes and umbrellas.

“We also extended charity to the needy, orphans, widows and widowers outside the church, through distribution of food items, a tradition started by our General Overseer, Prophet TB Joshua.

“We have a lot of testimonies from our members and partners in 2022.

“Viewers all over the world confirm the ever presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst.”

Evelyn mentioned the offering of a platform: My TB Joshua Moment on Emmanuel TV, to diverse people across the globe “who share a close relationship with our father in the Lord over the years.”

Extolling the virtues of Joshua, she described him as “a man of the people who interacted with everyone including commoners, political leaders, statesmen, religious leaders, industrialists, business personalities and media executives.”

“Everyone who encountered him has a beautiful story to tell on how they were blessed.

“The programme (My TB Joshua Moment on Emmanuel TV) is universally acknowledged for its freshness and insightful relevance,” she added.

She also touched on the success of other activities in 2022 including an outreach in South Africa, a co-ordinators’ meeting, Living Water service which attracted thousands.

Evelyn disclosed the ministry is strengthening all its departments for an excellent and progressive administration.

She commended the church groups, diplomatic communities and securities for their support.

She noted the thanksgiving service has become an annual event.

The service which reunited leaders and members puts to rest months of uncertainties about SCOAN’s future.

The Nation observed a main auditorium filled to capacity with ushers available to attend to requests, and ensure decorum.

Outside the main auditorium was a separate field with canopies and projectors also filled to capacity.

Despite the mammoth crowd who greeted the event, SCOAN officials in collaboration with law enforcement agencies including mobile police and Lagos Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) were able to maintain both vehicular and pedestrian order.

Since the founder’s passing on June 5, 2021, the church did not reopen till December 5, 2021.

Even before his death, the church was not in operation for a length of time as late Joshua insisted that all COVID-19 restrictions would first be relaxed, and that he would also hear from God, before reopening the church.

The first thanksgiving service brought together members from different countries and continents to celebrate what the SCOAN leader Pastor Mrs Evelyn TB Joshua described as “God’s faithfulness, love, blessing, favour, mercy, salvation and triumph of His mission for mankind as given to His departed servant, Prophet TB Joshua.”

A weeklong activity including reaching out to the underprivileged, the sick, widows, disabled, motherless homes and the hungry, preceded the thanksgiving service held in its Lagos auditorium.

Leaders and members appear to have shaken off the shock his death in order to continue his legacy.

The church projected footages of projects, including renovation of the SCOAN Akure, Ondo branch, embarked upon since his widow, Evelyn took over its reins.

Other notable projects include charity works in collaboration with donors known as Emmanuel TV partners to provide relief items to less privileged and victims of floods in Nigeria and across the globe.

The ministry also reached Ukraine and Spain for charity work.

It also fixed the Emmanuel School in Pakistan affected by flood.
