Football enthusiasts across Oyo State are gearing up for another exciting edition of the Oyetayo Oladimeji, popularly known as MC Handsome, birthday Spot Kick Championship 2026, as the highly anticipated 4th edition, tagged “Penalty Challenge,” takes place on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the Lekan Salami Mini Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The annual championship, which has become one of the most entertaining grassroots football events in the state, is scheduled to kick off promptly at 2:00 p.m., with organisers emphasising strict adherence to time under the slogan “No African Time”.
The ceremonial kick-off will be performed by Alhaji Mogaji Babatunde Saheed Adeyemo (SANJAY), setting the stage for an afternoon of thrilling penalty shootout contests featuring top spot-kick specialists and sports personalities.
A total of 14 exciting fixtures have been lined up for the championship, as Mr. Sports will face the celebrant, MC Handsome, and Jagunmade Adesina. Paj 1 and Obadare Oladosu ObaSports compete, and Afeez Mohammad Cantona will tackle Sola Aiyegbajeje, and Mr Legbegbe will confront Arode Concepts.
The fixture also paired Ishola Abass Abasslah against Solat-Telecoms.
While Agbara Sports and Agbaniwakoepo will trade tackles. M. Gatuso will face Lamboroki as Slenge and Orolabi lock horns; Imole Sports will fight it out with Jubril Arowolo Are, while Debo Motors and Abena Sports will confront each other.
Taiwo Adekunle is to test his skill against the CEO of First Olaide & Gas, while Dr. Samuel Gbesabi and Homosam are going to fight it out. Abiala Dahunsi Kaka and Paapeejay are facing each other, while Fasasi Wiseman will trade tackles with Adewale Hazmat, the top striker, to know who qualifies for the next round.
The championship will also attract several distinguished guests, including Alhaji Hammed Ganiyu, CEO of Solat Telecoms; Alhaja Simbiat Moronke Adebisi (Simronk Image); Rotarian Olayinka Dairo; Taoheed Ayeopare; Hon. Alhaji Waheed Akintayo, popularly known as “Ilumoka Presenter”; Alhaji Waheed Ogunsesan (Asoju Olufimo); and Alhaja Wasilat Adegoke, Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports.
The event is coordinated by Coach Adio Ayodeji, who expressed optimism that this year’s edition will be bigger and more competitive, while continuing to promote grassroots football, sportsmanship, and youth engagement through the unique spot-kick competition.
Organisers have invited football lovers, sports stakeholders, fans, and members of the public to witness the entertaining championship and celebrate another memorable birthday with Oyetayo Oladimeji MC Handsome through the spirit of football.
